We headed for the cruisecritic.com-Meet & Greet. Everything was well prepared.

We got all a card with all the important phone numbers. So far we have not had this before. Very great.



Wir bekommen eine Karte mit allen Telefonnummern, die für uns wichtig sein könnten. Das gab es bislang noch nie. Klasse.



So we started to make the acquaintance with Phyllis and Ken who were scheduled to share the tours in Lerwick, Torshaven and Dublin with us.



Wir lernen auch schon mal Phyllis und Ken kennen, die mit uns gemeinsam in Lerwick, Torshavn und Dublin unterwegs sein werden.







Ron organized the gift exchange but we did not participate. The participation was voluntary.



Am Geschenkeaustausch, der hier von Ron organisiert wird, nehmen nicht alle teil. Es läuft auf freiwilliger Basis.







In the front of Las Ramblas the assembly of the Senior Officers started.

Rechts ist übrigens Milka, die die Organisation übernommen hat. Eine super Arbeit! Links ist Beverage Manager Simon Edmund Jr.. Die anderen stelle ich später im Laufe des Blogs vor.

Alex Patagnan, House Keeping Manager: auf wievielen Kreuzfahrten haben wir ihn schon getroffen... ein langjähriger Freund bei NCL.



Ich habe mich dann nochmals bei Richard bedankt und erinnere ihn daran, dass ich als Gast so furchtbar nicht gewesen sein kann. Damals auf der NORWEGIAN GEM 2009 war er noch Hotel Director auf Probe und zwischenzeitlich schon Hotel Director auf der NORWEGIAN EPIC. Das will wohl was heißen.



I thanked Richard again for his appearance and reminded him that I could not be so terrible as a guest. On NORWEGIAN GEM 2009 he was Hotel Director on trial period. And in between, he was Hotel Director on NORWEGIAN EPIC. I think that should mean something.



Ich bitte nochmals nacheinander die Touranbieter sich vorzustellen, damit die anderen nachher es leichter haben, sich zu identifizieren. Nicht alle möchten ihre Kabinennummer bekanntgeben... Ich selbst plane nur für Torshavn eine öffentliche Tour mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln, zu der sich allerdings überraschenderweise 20 eingetragen haben, die mitwollen.



I asked all tour leaders to identify and introduce themselves that other might easier find them later. Not all of them liked to tell their cabin numbers. I only planned a public tour with public transport in Torshavn, and I was surprised that 20 registered for this tour.

Furthermore, they talked of the cabin-crawl of Ann which we did not attend. When they nominated a potential date, I only said that there should be the Jazz Brunch. Although we did not plan to attend, I only want to mention it just in case someone likes to book it. But the only reaction was that none was interested in an event like the Jazz Brunch. And it was also important to get public honor and to be scheduled like instructed. I had no problem to publish my cabin no. as I offered a public tour and anyone could join... All I asked for was the cabin number as I might cancel the trip because I was not interested in doing a boat tour in pouring rain so I could notify the others. So I felt free to withdraw in the last minute, and I wanted was them to show up right on time as I did not want to miss the bus.



Es wird noch die Kabinenrunde von Ann besprochen, an der wir nicht teilnehmen. Als ein möglicher Termin wird der Zeitraum genannt, für den der Jazz-Brunch geplant ist. Obwohl wir nicht daran teilnehmen, wollte ich es bloß gesagt haben, falls der eine oder andere dafür gebucht hat. Da hieß es bloß, dass wohl keiner sich für so etwas interessiert. Und ganz wichtig ist, dass man öffentlich gelobt wird und sich an die Anweisungen zu halten hat. Zum Glück habe ich eine öffentliche Tour und eine einfache Regel: wer nicht pünktlich da ist, hat Pech gehabt. Und da sich jeder daran anschließen kann, habe ich auch kein Problem damit, meine Kabinennummer bekannt zu geben... Ich bitte lediglich darum, dass sich die Interessenten bei mir auf einer Liste eintragen, damit ich sie benachrichtigen kann ob die Tour statt findet oder nicht. Wozu ich keine Lust habe: auf eine Bootstour bei Regen. Deswegen nehme ich mir das Recht raus, ggfls. abzusagen.

Wir gehen zum Seven Seas zum Mittagessen, aber zuvor gucken wir uns noch um.

After we got for lunch on NORWEGIAN JADE Soup of the Year, Starter of the Year, Entree of the Year and Desert of the Year you can get now a daily changing Soup of the Day and two Entrees of the Day.



Nachdem es ja auf der NORWEGIAN JADE mittags nur Suppe des Jahres, Salat des Jahres, Vorspeise des Jahres, Hauptspeise des Jahres, Nachspeise des Jahres gab, gibt es jeden Mittag wohl eine Tagessuppe und zwei Tagesgerichte.





Hühnercremesuppe - eigentlich einer meiner Lieblingssuppen, die ich sonst bei NCL als Vorspeise, Hauptspeise und Nachspeise nehme. Aber die schmeckt so fad, dass ich doch mal vom Maître wissen möchte, was eigentlich los ist... Mir wird bestätigt, dass sie so schmecken soll, wie sie ist, ABER ich soll mich doch schon für heute Abend festlegen, welche Suppe ich mag und man würde sie mir etwas individueller zubereiten. Darum liebe ich NCL. Kritik wird sofort abgearbeitet: der Gast soll eben nicht nach Hause fahren und erst im Frage erklären, dass es ihm nicht gefallen. Sondern JETZT und HIER sollen die Probleme gelöst werden. Also muss ich nicht meine eigene Herdplatte auf die NORWEGIAN SPIRIT mitnehmen...



Chicken Cream Soup - normally I take it with NCL as starter, entree and dessert. But this one tasted so flat that I need to speak with the Maître and need to know what was going wrong... They confirmed that it tasted like it should taste, BUT I should tell them now which soup I supposed to take for dinner and they promised to make a more individual preparation for me. That was why I loved NCL. Complaints were handled immediately. You should not get home and explain in the questionnaire why you disliked your cruise. You should do it NOW and HERE to get your problems solved. I was thinking about to have my own stove with me on NORWEGIAN SPIRIT, but I canceled the idea...





As said before: I am a soup-lover. Instead of a dessert, I took another chicken-noodle-soup. This was so good that I took another cup. Really good. The up and down on this voyages should be limited to the waves. But why with soups? They could have up and downs with the deserts. But not with the soups please.



Wie gesagt: ich bin Suppenkasper. So nehme ich statt Nachtisch noch eine Hühnernudelsuppe. Die war aber so gut, dass ich sogar eine 2. Tasse genommen habe. Richtig gut. Das Auf und Ab der Wellen muss doch für die Reise genügen. Warum muss ausgerechnet bei den Suppen. Vor mir aus beim Nachtisch. Aber doch bitte nicht bei den Suppen.

Das täglich verfügbare Angebot wechselt wohl ständig zwischen dem Seven Seas und dem Four Seasons hin und her.

With the Internet Manager, I got special instructions for iPhone and iPads and 10 minutes more which I get a SINGLE time (so not when you rebuy a new pass) due to my status as Latitudes Platinum. Now as were Gold with Cunard and Platinum with Princess we should go more frequent with them... as we get more free minutes.



Beim Internet-Manager bekomme ich noch spezielle Anweisungen für iPhone und iPad sowie die 10 Minuten, die mir EINMALIG (also nicht beim erneuten Kauf eines neuen Paketes) als Latitudes Platin-Mitglied gewährt werden. Jetzt wo ich Gold bei Cunard und Platin bei Princess bin, werden ich wohl öfters mit denen fahren... dort bekomme sehr viel mehr Freiminuten.

It was no Jazz Brunch like on NORWEGIAN JADE but a Musical Brunch. And Bruno was first in the list... why him and not me? I made the reservation. In the beginning, the bookings went very slow. So they offered a 2 for 1. So it became jam-packed.



Es ist kein Jazz Brunch wie auf der NORWEGIAN JADE, sondern ein Musical Brunch. Und Bruno ist der erste in der Liste... wieso er und nicht ich? Ich habe doch reserviert. Zuerst läuft wohl die Buchung sehr schleppend, so dass es ein 2 für 1-Angebot gibt. Aber dann wird später alles viel zu voll...

Es gibt ein Ärgernis auf dem Schiff und das ist aber wirklich einer der wenigen. Weil immer nur 2 Fahrstühle zusammengeschaltet sind, muss man immer auf beiden Seiten gegenüber den Fahrstuhl rufen. Das bedeutet, dass die Fahrstühle nicht optimal gesteuert werden.



Something very angry on this vessel and it was one of the very few. Because only two elevator cabins were connected you need to call on your side and your opposite side. That means that the elevator did not run the best possible options.
