Tag/Day 3.4 auf der/on NORWEGIAN JADE in Split, Croatia

Scroll down for English explanations - alternates with German explanations.

Perfect timing: We still had a little time for Split. My parents would like to return to the ship while Bruno's parents would like to see the promenade.

Direct here at the promenade you can see a model of the old town and get some orientation.

The location of the tender pier was fantastic.

We walked through a historic shopping mall in the UNESCO World Heritage Diocletian's Palace (Do not ask me... I am no historian... Just check at Wikipedia...)

I was not sure if I should like it or not...

But in case we would have bad weather I might be happy to be here.

The steps reminded to the The Great Wall in China. It was glazed (surface) and uneven as there. But they were not humid.

As I wanted pictures from the ship Bruno need walk upwards.

Da ich Bilder vom Schiff wollte, musste Bruno hoch.

Mangels Fahrstuhl habe ich wie üblich verzichtet.

As there was no elevator I stayed at the ground.

Bruno said that he only could make these pictures endangering his own live.

Viele waren wohl unterwegs schon umgekehrt.

Many returned while they were enroute.

I would normally wait with a cup of coffee but I could not see how far he was already on the way down.

He said that partly the stair was levitating and not really well fixed. Each step he made occured heavy moves of the whole construction.

You can avoid the steps in the underground shopping mall by waling outside around.

As an alternative you can also rent cars or other vehicles.

You can also get audio-guides directly at the tender pier.

Schnitzeljagd...

So you had to walk from one information board to the next: Scavenger hunt...

Close to the tenderpier Bruno found the most cleanest public toilets he have ever seen before. Due to modernisation works men and women had to share the men's room. One attendant made sure that none from the other gender will cross the ways in the publicsible areas. Many wanted to give here money for the cleaness of the toilets but she did not want any. But Bruno put some money in her hand to appreciate that this was a place you feel comfortable even it did not look like from outside.

Captain Kim let a sufficient number of tenderboat running between ship and shore. So there was no long queue and they let the boat departing without waiting it was full just to vacate for the next boat. So it was very pleasant for all of us.

We enjoyed the sun.

Wir genießen die Sonne.

Noch ein paar Bilder von Split. Hierher kommen wir gerne wieder.

Few more pictures from Split. A place we like to come back.
